The Susanville School District serves approximately 1,300 kindergarten through eighth-grade students in three traditional schools: Diamond View School (grades 6, 7 and 8), McKinley School (grades K-3), and Meadow View School (grades 4 and 5). The District also operates two small community day schools. District students benefit from a very committed and experienced teaching staff that is fully credentialed. The teachers are supported by a knowledgeable and talented classified staff. All schools are operated on a traditional calendar year.

The student body is comprised of approximately 73% Caucasian, 13.2% Hispanic, 9.3% Native American, 2.4% African American and 2.1% other ethnicities. One percent of our students are English Language Learners.

The Susanville School District has a budget of approximately ten million dollars, and employs 67 teachers, 36 teaching assistants, and 53 other classified and certificated staff members.
